Oakleaf Club Rug Auction
September 19, 2014I am always available to photograph events too. During this event I wasn’t sure if I wanted to keep shooting or to put the camera down and bid on one of the many beautiful rugs on display.

It was an honor to be called upon to photograph a vow renewal for my very first clients in Japan. It has been a real pleasure to get to know this family. It feels great that I have earned the trust to capture this moment with the quality it deserves. For this post I decided to post some images taken around the ceremony, leaving that special time for them and their family.
Although I am not very fashionable myself, I am inspired by so many beautiful fashion images that I see. I arranged a shoot, with the idea to keep the images simple but powerful. I wanted to work with hard light. Of course we couldn’t resist starting off with the plush window light of my ‘studio’ but then we moved on to the bare strobes. I do have to credit another photographer, Philp’e for the Black and White shot concept. I liked his image enough to try and re-create something similar. Hey, just standing on the shoulders of giants. Thank you Shamira for modeling and Steph for the makeup.
